Make This Lucky Bouquet of Clover

Why wait to find that lucky four leaf clover when you can make an entire, long-lasting bouquet yourself. It may need a little patience and care to poke the center holes and add the wire without tearing the leaves but the finished project is worth it. Once you start, you’ll want to make more.

TOOLS

MATERIALS

Cut the green crepe paper into sections that are 2 1/4 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches long. Make sure the grain of the crepe paper goes in the long direction as shown.

Fold the piece in half along the long grain.

Fold the piece in half again across the grain.

Using the single, heart-shaped balloon die from the Box Pops, Scooter Love die set, place it so that the bottom of the heart overlaps the bottom fold so that it doesn’t cut when run through the die cutting machine.

Die cut the shape. You will now have a heart-shaped piece made up of four layers of crepe paper.

With a die pick or pin, gently separate the layers of crepe paper.

Carefully fold the leaves in half lengthwise.

Repeat these steps to make at least 16 sets of leaves.

Using the pin, carefully poke a hole in the center of the fold between the two leaves

Insert the wire stem into the poked hole

Add a drop of liquid glue where the stem and leaves touch to secure

Insert the wire into the poked hole of the second set of leaves and apply adhesive to secure the leaves to the wire. Apply adhesive to the back of the leaves where they touch the wire to hold in place. Let dry.

Leave as little of the wire stem showing above the leaves. Trim with the wire cutters if necessary.

Adhere the ribbon around the rim of the small terracotta pot

Use a craft knife to trim a piece of floral foam to fit inside the pot.

Add a layer of florist moss to cover the foam.

Insert the clover stems into the foam.

Have a lucky St. Patrick’s Day!
