Gift cards are a convenient way to send the perfect gift to friends and family. Here’s a cool card that adds a little pop to your gift card.
For this card I used my Gift Card Holder, Pop-up die as the base and embellished it with the Santa from Tim Holtz’s Cool Yule set. Die cut the inside and outside of the card using contrasting colors of card stock. I also cut a 1/2″ strip of pattern paper for embellishing.
On the front of the card I used a pencil to mark 1/4″ from the bottom of the card front and placed the Holiday Knit die piece before running it through my BigShot a second time.
On the inside piece, I folded all of the crease lines as shown. With the narrow slots facing up, adhere the red pattern paper along the bottom, wrapping the ends behind the piece.
Turn the two pieces over and place them so they are in the same direction as shown in the photo below. On the back sides, apply adhesive to the areas as shown below.
Fold the inside piece with the slots facing upwards. The flat side without the red band should be behind the knit die cut pattern. Place the inside piece fold against the center fold of the card front to align evenly. Close the card and press firmly to adhere the pieces together.
I love the Cool Yule die set by Tim Holtz especially the hip Santa design. I die cut the words using Sizzix Foil Adhesive Sheets to add a little bling to the card. The negative space created by the Holiday Knit die adds a nice dimension to the card front. Adhere the Santa and the greetings to embellish a cool gift card holder.
Finally, insert a gift card into the two slots and you’re done!
