Christmas DIY Journal

Recently I’ve become enchanted with the idea of starting a journal. My Pinterest board is filled with inspiring images of smaller journals with just the right amount of journaling, photos and drawings. I can see myself gleefully adhering ephemera and doodles to overstuffed pages. So I decided to experiment with the Sizzix Wrapped Journal die by Eileen Hull as a Christmas journal.Sizzix_Christmas_Journal

I adhered two, coordinating papers to a Little Sizzles mat board then die cut it with a BigShot machine.

For the inside pages I cut some medium weight paper, both printed and plain white, folded in half and inserted through the elastic cord.inside2

I die cut lots of flowers and leaves from David Tutera’s Layered Flowers die set available from HSN. I adhered the flowers to the cover and on several pages.inside1

Finally, I used the phrase stamp and die from my Photo Frame, Seasonal Phrases die set to add a title to the cover.Christmas_Journal_detail

I decided to give this as a holiday gift because it turned out so festive. I plan to make  many mini journals to fill with so much fun scraps.
