St. Patrick’s Day Card

On St. Patrick’s Day, we’re all a little Irish if only as an excuse to wear a little green. Since green is my favorite color, I had a little fun making a card celebrating the Irish in all of us.

I designed the words to be printed out two times so you can make two cards at once. Download the printable file at the end of this post, print on an 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock and trim in half.

Add a strip of green washi tape.

Die cut an approximately 1 3/4 inch circle. You can use a 2 inch circle as well. Adhere it on top of the washi tape.

Place a piece of gold foil washi tape onto a piece of white cardstock. Adhere a piece of orange cardstock next to it. Place the Eyeglass die from the Photo Frame, Holidays die set on top of the gold foil with the eyebrows overlapping the orange cardstock. Die cut this piece as shown.

Place a piece of green pattern washi tape onto white cardstock. Die cut the Bowtie from the Photo Frame, Props die set. Washi tape works well for tiny shapes because the pattern is usually a smaller scale.

Die cut the Hat from the Photo Frame, Props die set in both green and black cardstock. Cut the band from the black hat and adhere it to the green hat. Die cut both the beard {Photo Frame, Holidays set} and separate mustache, {Photo Frame, Props die set} from the same orange cardstock that was used for the eyebrows.

Layer and adhere the pieces as shown. Use foam tape to raise the mustache above the beard.

Place Sizzix adhesive on the back of a piece of green cardstock and die cut 41 green hearts using the insert die from the Photo Banner die set.

Draw the first horizontal pencil line 5/8″ from the top of the card. Add a pencil mark at 1/4″ 1 1/2″, 2 3/4″ and 4″ across starting from the left. Adhere a cluster of hearts around each of these marks. Second line: Draw a line at 1 3/8″ down from the top and mark 7/8″,  2 1/8″ and 3 3/8″ across beginning on the left. Add a cluster of hearts around each of these marks. Third line, draw a line down from the top at 2 1/8″. Add pencil marks and heart clusters in the same distances as the first line. Finally, draw a horizontal line down from the top at 2 3/4″. Add pencil marks and heart clusters at the same distances as the second line. Go back and add a lucky 4 leaf clover in the second row.

Cute card! Unfortunately, only able to save as a 4 x6 image and therefore distorts when trying to print on letter sized paper. I have tried saving it a couple different ways, but no luck.
