Today I’m sharing my new Sizzix Mini Album die as the perfect, versatile solution to create simple and quick cards. I originally designed the Mini Album set to work with the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 photos to create an easy mini scrapbook with lots of fun embellishments {see examples HERE and HERE} but now I have found so many other uses such as card making with more ideas to follow.
My first card uses the Photo Frames, Holidays and clearly shows that you don’t need to include a photo when using these frames. The bird, vine and phrase all come from my Birds & Phrases clear stamp set. I used Distress Ink on the frame edges. I adhered the Frame to the front of the card then stamped the phrase and vine using Stazon Jet Black ink. I stamped the bird on a piece of white cardstock and colored the bird and vine using watercolor pencils and my Ranger Water Brush {love this brush!}.
Because the “card” shape was designed to bind together to create a multi-page album, it includes binding holes on the spine. For most cards, you will need only one card/page. You can use thin ribbon to finish off the spine.
For my Thank you card, I applied Sizzix adhesive to the back of the doily and adhered that to a piece of cardstock. Because the Mini Album die is a Framelits, you can see through the die and position the doily before die cutting the card. The pink banner is part of the same Mini Album set. The phrase Thank You is from my Birds & Phrases clear stamp set. The little flowers are from the Paper Clippables set.
This Happy Holidays card is both a card and a mini album. All of the embellishments are from the same Mini Album set except for the mini Bow which is from the Paper Clippables set. I will do another post about all of the fun things you can do with the 3D Paper Clippables.
I bound two cards together to make a mini album/card. I adhered a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 photo and frame. I stamped the words using the Memories stamp. The hearts are from the Banner set.
I added some stamping to the next two pages where I will write my sentiments later. This is both a simple mini album and card that is quick and easy.
Finally, here is a quick card I made using vintage sewing pattern tissue as the flowers. I stacked several layers of pattern tissue and die cut it with the Flower shapes in the Banner set. The Happy Birthday is from the Birds & Phrases clear stamp set. The frame around the words is from a set called Ornate Labels.
After I die cut several layers of sewing pattern tissue, I placed a flower center die cut shape on top and added a vintage button. I placed all layers on the textured part of the Stamper’s Secret Weapon and used an embroidery needed to punch a hole through all of the paper layers. I threaded embroidery floss through the button, yellow center and pattern tissue then tied it off to hold it together.
I adhered the back of the tissue flowers to the top of a flower/stem die cut so the stem will show below the flower.
I scrunched the tissue to add dimension.
So simple and unique! Hope you enjoy these quick ideas to use my new Sizzix Mini Album die set with or without FujiFilm Instax photos.
