We haven’t been to an estate sale in several months. Yesterday we decided to do a day trip to Santa Barbara starting with an early morning estate sale in Pasadena. I love hunting for unusual things that can be upcycled into art.
At the Pasadena estate sale we found as old kitchen scale and some unique glass canning jars in a canning basket. The clear jar is marked “Decker’s Iowana, Mason City Iowa” and the aqua jar is marked “Perfect Seal, Made in Canada”.
In Santa Barbara we stopped at an upcycle art store called Art From Scrap that sold discarded items that could be used for art projects. There were so many cool things there. I picked out a large concave glass lens, two Bakelite buttons and acrylic signage letters that spell out LyndaCreates. As an artist, the visual world seen through a concave lens has always fascinated me.
It was such a beautiful day for a road trip and the California Coast is so breathtaking.
This photo was taken from the end of the Santa Barbara pier looking back towards the city.
