Mini Album

It was so exciting to finally be presenting my own designs at the Craft and Hobby Show in Anaheim, CA. To everyone who stopped to ask questions at my booth, I would explain that I am a Crafter who designs for the Crafter. To prove this point, I would show them my Mini Album that I was working on every evening after the show.

The mini album is made using my Pocket Page and Tag die by Sizzix. One 12″x12″ piece of paper creates a 2-page mini album page that is 4″x6″ folded. It is a great size plus it also cuts a large tag that fits in the pockets.

For this cover page I attached a label shape and used my new Alphabet stamps with Perfect Pearls to indicate “CHA 2016”. The red flower in the bottom left is die cut from my new Ampersand die coming out later this year. I also added my business card and a fortune from a cookie that I got two days before the show started.2ThursdayI began the first inside page with a Fujifilm Instax mini photo from a dinner attended by some of the new CHA Designers. At the dinner I had passed around a card for everyone to write their names so I would remember who they were. It turned out to be very handy since this was all about making contacts in the industry.

The second page was my brief recap of my first day demonstrating. During the show I embellished pages with whatever was at the booth where I was demonstrating. The paper clip and flag were from the new Page Planner line as was the arrow punch on the Thursday tag.3SundayOn Sunday I demonstrated in the Stamps and Paper booth. I journaled on the tag in the right pocket. The ring of flowers are a Hollyhock stamp that I designed. I love vintage Hollyhocks so I drew some that are large enough to color. This is the same stamp that I embroidered here.4MondayOn Monday I demonstrated in the Page Planners and More booth. I spent some time embellishing the tag on the left with some stamps, dies, embossing folders and gold washi tape. The best part was when LaDorna Eichenberg, the founder of Ellison/Sizzix stopped by for a visit. Such a lovely lady!5TuesdayI was back demonstrating in the Home Decor booth again on Tuesday. It was the last day so there weren’t a lot of buyers walking around. A woman with a beautiful French accent stopped by and when she saw my business card on the table she began digging through her bag and pulled out the most amazing filled Mini Journal. Below is her page.Mini_JournalHer name is Isabelle Renault and she had gathered business cards and various scraps from throughout the tradeshow and then assembled them into her journal every evening. She had my card and my flower scraps already on the page and asked me to autograph it. We had someone take an Instax photo of us then she assembled the rest of the page using washi tape and glue at my booth. How cool is that! I showed her my mini album and we were instant kindred spirits sharing our love of documenting our experiences in the moment. This was truly an inspiring journal.6BackFinally, to complete my mini album, I stamped all of the dates of the CHA Winter 2016 show. I could have added so many more pages and photos but this mini album is just a brief reminder of my exciting week!
