Clear stamps are nothing new to the crafting industry but these are exciting because they are the first ones I designed. Okay, maybe these are only exciting to me but I hope they make your creative life a little more fun. These stamps are also designed to be very versatile because I like to have the ability to use stamps on cards, scrapbook pages or tags.
The first set I designed is called Birds and Phrases. I wanted to have lots of useful phrases especially for cardmaking but I also wanted a sweet little bird because, well, they can be so much fun to color.
I began by die cutting a Sizzix Circle Flip-Its #4 card in yellow. I added an extra 3″ fold of paper on the cardstock before die cutting which added an extra flap on the inside of the card.
Next I die cut the side panels from the new Sizzix Designer Paper Line. These papers work so easily because they are printed on both sides with coordinating colors and patterns.
I die cut the scalloped circle {included in the same Circle Flip-Its die set} from white cardstock then stamped the bird and the phrase using archival black ink. I used watercolors to color the bird and leaves.
Here is another card I made using the same clear stamp set.
I used black archival ink and stamped on watercolor paper {the smooth side}. This time I used watercolor pencils and colored the bird and leaves. I glued the paper to the front of a card and added a bit of washi tape. Simplicity itself!
One last card made from the same clear stamp set is this With Love card.
I die cut watercolor paper and stamped with black archival ink again. I used watercolor pencils which allowed me to blend the pinks in the word “Love”. The flower die is another sneak peek that I will have to share at a later date.
I will share more on clear stamp sets in future posts.
