Simple Machine Sewing Project that Creates a Bloomin’ Bag!

Ready to transform 100% cotton textiles into a one-of-a-kind, functional and practical piece of art? In this tutorial, I will show you how to sew a Chenille-style Bloomin’ Bag—a vibrant, blooming fabric bag that can hold your iPad or other essentials in a mindful and creative style. This simple sewing project uses lots of layered cotton fabrics and easy machine stitching to create a textured, blooming effect that’s perfect for beginners and experienced textile artists alike.

The colorful, 100% cotton fabric makes it bloom. The sewing is super simple. Some detail and care is needed for the snipping of the fabric layers but it is simple. The results are fun to see after the sewing and snipping are done and the fabric goes through the washer and dryer. You can even brush it with a stiff brush for more texture.

I even made a little embellishment while waiting for the fabric to dry. Check out my little icon I die cut and adhered to the back of my Bloomin’ Bag!
