Drawing, Painting and Stitching on the Inside Back Cover of the Stitch Notebook.
In Part 7 of my Stitch Notebook, I am starting on the inside back cover. I sketched four of my favorite flowers to be the highlight of my slow stitched art.
The goal of this Stitch Notebook is to give purpose to my creative stitchery projects. This was the first time I made a Suffolk Puff a.k.a. Yo-yo piece and love the charm of their texture. I love drawing so it was also an excuse to slow down and draw an Iceland Poppy (my fave), Hollyhocks (swoon!), Lily of the Valley (my birth month flower) and Nasturtiums (humble yet colorful). I wanted something beautiful and meaningful for the inside back cover of my Stitch Notebook. This was the perfect way to combine all of these goals while taking time to draw and stitch.
Painting with Inktense Blocks on fabric was delightful and I kept the stitches very simple but the forming of the flower buds was a rewarding challenge.
There is still so much more to stitch and explore. Please join me in this creative journey and let’s make something beautiful together!
