When was the last time you tried something for the first time?

I have to admit this, but I have never made a Swedish Heart (Danish Heart or Scandinavian Heart) before. Never made it as a kid. Never made it in any crafting camp. Never even made one as a professional craft designer. I’ve seen them everywhere but I’ve never made one.

Fast forward to my desire to introduce paper crafting to stitchers and stitching to paper crafters and you can see where my need to actually make a Swedish Heart out of fabric became a reality. But then the idea that simple Swedish Heart patterns are so common, why would anyone find my heart different.

This is where the idea to design my own Swedish Heart pattern shape with two variations was born. Why do all of the Swedish Heart patterns all have to be the same? Can you make different shaped hearts? Would they still weave together and work? Can you make it out of fabric instead of paper? So many curious questions that needed to be answered. Thus the Slow Stitched Swedish Heart Pocket idea was born. It is just as easy to make but offers so many more possibilities for ways to embellish the finished heart.
