Celebrate National Coffee Day with a Coffee Cup Shaker Card that is Almost Magical
If you’re a coffee lover or know someone that is then you are going to love making or receiving this Tip and Sip Coffee Shaker Cup card. Tip the cup and the coffee appears. Tip it again and the coffee disappears. Don’t worry, you can make them reappear again. So simple to make, add the recipient’s name to the front, a sentiment on the back and watch how many times they fill and empty the cup like magic.
TOOLS
- Tip and Sip Coffee Shaker die
- Die Cutting Machine
- Liquid adhesive
MATERIALS
- Brown Shaker Pop Bits
- Clear Acetate
- Card stock: white, off-white, tan, green
Supplies
Using thick white card stock, die cut 9 pieces of the open coffee cup shape. Die cut the solid coffee cup shape once out of the same white card stock and once out of clear acetate. Die cut the remaining shapes as shown.

Stacking the layers
Start with the solid white coffee cup shape and adhere 8 layers of the open coffee cup shape.

Filling
Carefully fill the middle section of the open coffee cup shape with the Brown Shaker Pop Bits. Do not overfill this middle area. Do not add any shaker bits to the top right open area. Apply adhesive to the open coffee cup shape edges and adhere the clear acetate on top.

Cup Holder
There is a slight extended edge on either side of the coffee cup. Align the tan “sleeve” with these edges and adhere in place. Adhere the green embellishment circle in the middle of the sleeve.

Filling the cup
Once the adhesive is dry, shake the cup so that the shaker bits appear in the bottom of the cup.

Emptying the cup
Tip the cup so that the shaker bits roll to the narrow section above the sleeve as shown.
Rotate the cup in a counter-clockwise motion so that the shaker bits roll into the hidden area behind the “sleeve”. The cup now appears empty.

refilling the cup
Tip the cup again so that the shaker bits appear in the narrow area again. Shake and rotate the cup in a clockwise direction to have the shaker bits appear to fill the cup again.
