Celebrate a New Addition to the Family
Whether you’re the big brother, big sister or the mommy to be, share the pride with a ribbon rosette announcing the occasion. Check out how simple these are to make.
TOOLS
MATERIALS
- Double sided pattern card stock
- Card stock in coordinating colors
- Adhesive, Liquid
Die Cutting
Die cut three of the large, curved pieces from the Ribbon Rosette die set, one circle for the back, one zig zag circle, two large ribbon tails, two small ribbon tails and the center circle embellishment.
The center circle will be detailed further in this tutorial.

Folding
Create a mountain fold beginning on the first crease line on the left. Create a valley fold on the second crease line. Continue alternating between mountain and valley folds

Use a burnishing tool to make sharp creases.

Fold all three curved shapes

Assembling
Apply adhesive on the small glue tab

Adhere the left side of one curved shape to the glue tab of the second curved shape

Adhere all three curved shapes to create a loose ring

Forming the Rosette
Gently work the loose ring into a rosette shape coming together in the center.
Hold the rosette together and flip to the back side

Apply strong adhesive to the center of the rosette. Hot glue works best but we used liquid adhesive.
Adhere the die cut circle to secure the rosette together. Hold until the adhesive is dry

Ribbon Tails
Die cut two large and two small ribbon tails in contrasting colors. Adhere the top edge of the small tail to the top edge of the large tail

Embellishing
Adhere the zig zag circle to the front of the rosette.
Adhere the ribbon tails to the back of the rosette as shown

Select the desired drop in words into the circle die and run these through a die cutting machine together. Here we used the Big Brother drop in words inside the circle die. Use contrasting colors for easy readability.

Options
Included in the Baby Add-on set are the phrases; “Big Brother”, “Big Sister” and “Mommy to be”. Three outfits include a baby t-shirt, overalls and a dress. Plus there are a pair of cute little baby feet as embellishments.
The Ribbon Rosette is sold separately.

Use these to embellish a baby shower gift, add a pin backing so these can be worn with pride or use these on the front of a baby shower card for the new parents.
