Sharing a Memorable moment
We attended my nephew’s wedding anniversary celebration in Colorado. To capture the memory, I made a card using my Window Box Impresslits together with an Instax photo of the happy couple.

I started with a piece of white cardstock cut and scored to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ folded. I then ran the front panel of the card through my die cutting machine using my Window Box impresslits. This embossed the stone wall pattern and die cut the windows all in one pass.
Next, from scrap cardstock, I die cut the window frames and trimmed them along the sides. I used these as masks for when I inked the embossed stone areas.

The edge of the window frame is narrow so here’s a trick that I use to fold open the window, place a ruler along the edge and fold back gently to create a straight, narrow fold.
Die cut another set of window frames from a coordinating color and adhere to the backs of the open window frames {see photo below}
Since my nephew and his wife live in Colorado, I decided to embellish the front of the card with columbines, the state flower. I die cut ten flowers out of several shades of blue cardstock and ten white flowers to make the center of each flower. I shaped the flower centers with a i-Press Burnishing tool to make them into a cup shape.
I die cut lots of green vines and leaves to fill the flower box area and adhered the columbine flowers in front. You can see the tan window frames here.
Finally, I adhered my Instax photo to a piece of 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ cardstock and adhered that behind the open window. Aren’t they cute!
