What do you get when you find an old surveyor’s tripod at an estate sale and an industrial stage light at a flea market several years later? You get a really nice floor lamp of course.
Four years ago, I found an old Otto Engineering Co. surveyor’s tripod at an estate sale. It was a little expensive but I just had to have it. Here’s the tripod when I first bought it.
For the next few years, Dear Handyman and I had searched for the perfect industrial light fixture to add to this tripod. Most were too big or too expensive. We finally found the perfect one at the Rosebowl Swapmeet.
Dear Handyman did a little handyman magic by updating the wiring just to be safe and an awesome industrial floor lamp was created.
I love that this is completely authentic and so useful. If you enjoyed this project, please Follow my site. Thanks
