Owl Stuffies

Recently, Walmart began carrying the Sizzix quilting line including four fabric dies. I was thrilled to find that one of my designs was among the four selected {the other three are basic quilting shapes}.

My fabric die is an OWL. It can be used as an applique but I decided to use it to make some Stuffies and share the instructions below.

The owl on the right is how I first imagined the design. The “sleepy” owl and the Barn owl were variations that came to me while making these Stuffies. I thought up even more variations that you can find on the PDF instructions below.

The fabric was also from Walmart but you can use your scraps to make handfuls of these little owls.

The Sizzix quilting products are near the Fat Quarter fabric display {kind of hard to find unless you are looking for them}.

There’s my little Owl die waiting to go to a new home.

Here is the PDF instructions including some really funny variations that I came up with. If you create any other variations then please let me know.

Hope you enjoy the Owl Stuffie. Have fun!

      1. I’m having trouble getting the die to cut through the cotton fabric. I have the clear plate on top and on bottom (the “Sizzix sandwich” and running it through my Big Kick but all it’s doing is scoring the fabric, not cutting. I’ve tried one layer and multiple layers. It’s scoring the top clear plate so the blade seems to be pushing through but it just isn’t cutting. 😦

I think it would be neat to fill them with rice, then when a little one has an earache in the middle of the night you would have a cute little rice bag for them to hold.

I have been to 5 Walmarts in the Phoenix area and none of them carry your die cut. They have some of your fabrics and very few fat quarters left. Boo! I spoke with the mgr. of the fabric section and she had never heard to the die cuts. Are they sold in another region? Congratulations on your fabric design, it’s so fresh.
