Over the years I have thrifted quite a few items that I plan to repurpose into different projects. I alway enjoy when I can create something using only thrifted items that cost so little.

Vintage_music_wreathThis is a wreath that I originally created using $3 of thrifted supplies. This version had vintage silk flowers for a Springtime look but I’ve updated it for the Christmas season. Again, everything is thrifted but now there is about $7 worth of materials used in this new version.

To create the base of the wreath, I began by hot-gluing Spanish Moss around the front of the entire wreath form. Next, I used vintage music sheets and die cut them into strips using the Sizzix Create-a-Bow die by Eileen Hull.

I took each strip and created a simple loop then attached it to the wreath using straight pins. I also varied the angle of each loop to add fullness to the finished piece.

For the original wreath, I die cut some Flourish #2 shapes. I attached the flourishes and some vintage silk flowers with straight pins as the final detail.

For the updated, Christmas wreath, I used two vintage table decorations and one vintage Christmas corsage to add lots of red and silver color. I added vintage green chenille Christmas trees. I had thrifted an entire display box of these trees with little chenille Santas attached. Unfortunately some of the Santas had fallen off but that left me with plain trees that worked perfectly for this wreath.

Then, as a final embellishment, I added one vintage seated Elf. Now it is ready for the Holidays.
